Meet Porter, a sweet two-year-old pup who’s been through a lot but is now on the path to healing. Once constantly on the run, Porter has come a long way from his fearful past. Today, he’s found joy in simple things like lounging on the couch, getting his chest petted, and wrestling with his doggie friends. Though still timid with new people, Porter’s loving and playful side shines through, making him a wonderful companion for a patient, understanding family.

Porter’s journey began in fear, as he spent months running, too scared to trust anyone. After covering 30 miles on the run, he settled near a homeowner’s carport in Anthem, AZ, where he was fed and cared for until a dramatic rescue using a drop net saved him. Since then, Porter has made huge strides in foster care, learning to trust and enjoy life. Though still insecure and working through his fear of cars and leashes, Porter has transformed into a funny, couch-loving dog who just needs time to continue his journey to wholeness.
