Community Education
The suffering we see in the Phoenix area—and beyond—is heartbreaking. Our volunteers witness it every day.
At Poverty’s Pets, building relationships with families in our targeted communities is at the heart of what we do. Through these connections, we work to improve the quality of life for companion animals by focusing on education and open dialogue.
Every full water bowl, every pool to cool down in, and every patch of shade matters—especially during Phoenix’s brutal summer heat.
But our conversations go deeper.
We also talk with residents about the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. It’s one of the most effective ways to reduce suffering and prevent more animals from ending up on the streets.
Community Spay & Neuter Clinics
With zero way to rescue our way out of this unnecessary and avoidable, human-caused overpopulation problem, Poverty’s Pets offers free spay and neuter clinics for the community, and has become so popular and appreciated, that every clinic is MAXED!
The founder always says, “If you build it, they will come!”, and they sure do!
Pools For Pups
In addition to the clinics being sought after, Poverty’s Pets “Pools for Pups” program is in demand!
As volunteers canvas the community, they offer free “kiddie” pools for the outdoor animals in need of reprieve from the Phoenix heat.
Cat TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release)
Rescue work isn’t for the “faint of heart”! Each TNR “clinic” is a three day endeavor and targets one cat colony at a time in an attempt to curb the over-population and suffering.
Thank You!
A special thank you to all our community partners, fosters and volunteers! Without you, this much needed community service work would be impossible!
